Project Guidelines & Helpful InformationProject in a Nutshell . . .
Each student will select one inventor to research. The student will research background information about the inventor, the process of how they created their invention, and how their invention affected the world. Once research is complete students will write a two part speech in which they pretend to be the inventor. In the speech they will tell about the inventor’s background and process of creating the invention, while in part two they will persuade the audience to believe they’re invention is the best. On presentation day students will dress up as their inventor with props. Students will be asked to recite their speech (mainly memorized or on notecards) to various classes throughout the school. Their speech should range from 3 to 5 minutes. Students will travel around in groups of three to various classes and each give their speech. After the speech students in the class are permitted to ask the “inventors” questions. It’s ideal for students to give their speech to 3 different classes. |
